for my final project i decided to do a pixel art recreation of a hut that i could use in my game the reason this project took me 15 hours was mainly because of the door, i had to draw out each individual stick that makes it up and i had to layer them to add an almost 3d effect to the sticks than i individually colored and shaded all of the sticks so they all looked unique and exciting as you can see i posted several pictures of my hut as i went on in the different stages of creating it. for the roof u use some of the different shapes under the paint brush and used some natural nature colors layered together to make the roof look like it a mixture of hay and grass like in the original picture.

This is my new icon compared to my last icon it is much simpler but very little  of it was pulled of the internet so it is mostly original work and pixel  art. the animation is the title coming up and getting older and the blood splatter showing up

the next item I plan to re do is my logo, for the logo im going to do it very similar to the title screen obviously without the menu, I will have to wall with old looking cracks and have to title fade in looking old 



for my maze upgrade i changed around some of the aisles so that it looks more like a supermarket 
i have a bunch of different walls

the top picture is my current title screen, im plan to upgrade, well completely re make my title screen based of one of my older thumb nails, I plan to combine the pillars and the wall I also posted here to look like a old wall with my title screen on it, for animations I will do the game menu and maybe some cracks appearing on the wall.

this is an example  an animated supermarket I found on Google, I am not shore if it is from a video game but it is what I found that looks closest to t he idea I'm going for in my animation. the artist who designed this image did a good job replicating a supermarket and a real but cartoony way.

using maya i made a 3d version of my supermarket maze. the maze i made was my easy maze. although all the wall are the same where they would no be in a supermarket, i feel the maze sill looks well and hopefully will play well.

my 4 reference images show some walls and than the floor and celling of my maze since its based off of a supermarket i may need to find other walls so it looks a little more different my maya render shows how they will if when i make the maze in maya they show the wall the celling the floor and a double wall

this is an example of what one of the supermarkets aisles will look like i will probably change the walls in other aisles of the maze so it looks like they sell other things and to make the maze a little easier. i think there are a lot of options i can use for walls because now a days supermarkets sell almost everything. and as i go the floor and the celling will obviously stay the same.

My game is about a  young boy  named Fillip Fatty. If you didn't realize that by his name Fatty is a fat kid and as you know  fat kids love candy. What he is trying to do is find a magical candy bar in the super market named MR Yummy and all Mr. yummy wants is to be eaten by Fatty because as a candy bar that is what  was made for. As you can tell my maze takes place in a supermarket and the character will be running through the aisles of the supermarket looking for the goal, Mr. yummy
but there may be sum unexpected problems as you go through the maze and as levels get harder for example there might be a dead end where a personal trainer is stationed which could end his quest, or he could come across his cheek pinching grandmother who will pinch his cheeks so hard he wont be able to eat anything for the rest of the day.

this castle could be very useful in many places. i could use it in the background of the game either as a section of broken wall or castle or i can even use it on the main maps as a place to put towers if i changed it to a top view of the castle.

i Chose the cannon to do for my pixel art because it is going to be an important tower in my gameplay and because throughout future artwork i will be something that i can add to other things like a castle or an example of chat a map may look like. using the pixel art was fairly east, but time consuming. it is interesting to see how everything comes from the same basic shapes

in my updated logo i added a bevel and a shadow around the circle and an inner showed to make it look more crisp and clean, i also changed one of the axes to look similar to to the other as long as finding better quality pictures so they look cleaner and crisper as well

the thumbnail I thought put the most thought into was number 7, I felt that the axes that looked similar to the 2 factions in the game with the title against the old paper giving it a sense of time.
when I do further work on my logo I will add effects to the outer circle, maybe adding a shadow.
for  animations I could make the axes flying into the circle as if they were thrown and maybe debre coming off the circle.

for my title screen animation, i used the fog as the scroll for the select menu to represent the "fog of war". the dragon n the background, that fly's across the screen gives a sense of era and an idea of whee the game takes place. the cannonball and the bolder being flung by the catapult show the conflict between the two sides shooting at each other.

my title screen shows the two major fighting factions in the game side by side. the animation in my final product will include the flying of the bolder the cannon ball and the dragon across the screen. there will be an arrow or some animation to indicate your menu selection. as you can see my games animation os very similar to that of world of warcraft, seeing as most of my buildings and images are pictures from the game

the green on the orc and the dwarfs orange  hair stand out against the light paper of the background
 i have realized that my main colors is the sandy look from the paper and most of the landscapes  with distinct standing out colors in the middle land scape and from the dwarf and the green from the orcs skin

the dark black in the center image stands out from the lighter colors of the buildings in the left image and the brown/green grass in the right image.  
the green of the orc and the orange of the dwarfs hair stand out  from the paper background



In this picture of the very popular game, World Of Warcraft, the artists chose  there colors very specifically and with great thought. the deep red sand of the land sets the main toe for the background with a lack sky above it representing the emptiness of space. the sun in the center draws he viewers eye to the left side of the screen. the green of the orc stands out from the background since its such a different color making it look like the orc is pooping off the screen.

GAME TYPE- tower defense/reverse

THEORY OF GAME – tower defense style game but you can choose to be the defenders with the towers or the attackers sending out troops

BASIC STORY - a tribe of goblins and orcs are attacking a dwarves city in search of treasure, the dwarves want to protect their riches, which they have worked very hard to gain away from the marauders.

POSSIBLE PLAYER TYPES-  DWARVES-  archer tower, mage tower, catapult, artillery crossbow , throwing axes, dragon tamer tower, gold miner to produce extra money,

GRNOME TOWERS- heavy cannon, ground traps, money multiplier, glue trap, oil dump, basic machine gun , storm harvester

GOBLIN AND ORC UNITS – infantry, mini riders, scouts, goblin raider, orc infantry, heavy, wolf rider, mammoth master, black magic man, general,

 

BACKGROUND – The dwarves city of Azrum ruled by king Thonir is a very wealthy city that has been at war with the tribe of krullmud compiled of Orcs and goblins living together there ruler is karggru a massive and powerful orc who commands hundreds of thousands of troops who make their money and thrive on destroying other cities.

SETTING- middle earth , there will be many different settings for example the front gates of Azrum, the catacombs under the city  the inner city walls,  the first are out the city will be a grassy pain like are with lots of little hills and crevices or the attacking forces to hide and come out of. The front gate of the city will be a very rocky clif like area carved into a mountain and designed to defend against such attacks

The under city catacombs will be like rocky caves and burial tombs where ancient Dwarves armies have been buried,  there will be many different paths to take as ar and attacker but some may lead to traps and ghosts while others will lead into the city, there will be less places to place towers because of the tight quarters

 

Other ideas of later development- possibly ability to send out defending troops for army style combat similar to the game play in the iPhone app trenches if the goblins win and take the treasure mabye the dwarves/goblins can than attack there tribe to try to take it back allowing for more dwarves troops and  goblin towers
